Fixing Bossons to the Wall

Why do certain Bossons fall of the wall

I have met numerous people who say that they have had Bossons just falling of the wall .. how strange !! The problem is it's happened to me.... even stranger.  The reason my Bossons fell of the wall was the newer

designed back ....   and I'm sure this back is responsible for many damaged Bossons. The problem comes when you miss the wire bar, and your supporting picture nail ends up resting on the top of the chalkware hole (and not the wire bar). The Bossons may then stay in place for maybe an hour or maybe days, but the odds are that it will eventually fall of the walls.

It has happen to me and to other collectors that I know. So make sure, with this type of back, that the wire support is resting properly on you picture nail or you could pay dearly ....

How to firmly attaching your Bossons to a masonry or brick walls.

1 - Don't use nails in brick or masonry walls, as the nails tend to loosen with age.

2 - Always drill, plug and screw fixings to the wall. It is preferable to drill at a slight angle so that the Bossons slides closer to the wall. Use a  2 inch (50mm) screw..

3 - Attach a loop of string around the nail, then attach the string to the wire support situated on the Bossons. If the Bossons does fall then the string will retain it .... Don't use fishing line as it becomes brittle with age (the loop needs to be about 100mm for easy access to secure).
